At a glance
A pseudomod stores mod rows under one name. A referencing Mods check receives the group's matching Required and Points totals, so set the final threshold in that check.
Before you start
Read mod requirements and open a tree. This example creates a reusable life-and-fire-resistance group. Its values are hypothetical requirements chosen to make the arithmetic easy to follow.
1. Open the pseudomod manager
Open a Check Item > Mods node. In Add mods, select an item type, switch to Pseudomods, and click Manage Pseudomods. Click New pseudomod.
Enter Life and fire in Pseudomod Name. Pick a folder if you already have one, or leave the group at the root.
2. Add the group's member rows
In the group's mod editor, select the matching item type and any required subtype. Under Stat lines, add maximum life and fire resistance.
Use Simplified so each qualifying member contributes Required 1 and Points 0. Set life Min Value to 70 and fire resistance to 30. Review both complete stat labels before saving.
3. Save the group
Click Save Pseudomod. A group needs a name and at least one member. If saving is blocked, read the validation message and fix the named field.
Close the manager after saving. The new group should now be available in the Pseudomods picker for a compatible item type.
4. Reference it in a Mods check
Choose the saved group from Pseudomods, add it, and click Done. For this first example, keep this check's configured list to that one group reference.
Use the eye button beside the reference to inspect its members. The group name helps you find it; the saved member rows determine what contributes to the check.
5. Set the final threshold explicitly
Switch this referencing check to Advanced. Turn off Keep Required matches equal to mod count. Set the reference's Required to 1, Required matches >= to 2, and Score needed >= to 0.
The reference multiplier of 1 forwards each matching member once. With the group's two members, a final Required threshold of 2 requires both. A threshold of 1 would accept either member. The number of references on screen is different from the number of matching members inside them.
6. Test the saved reference
Click Add to Tree for a new check, connect it into a short check-and-finish tree, and save. Run it against an identified item, then compare Logs with the actual rolls.
A hypothetical item with 75 life and 35 fire resistance contributes 2 and passes. One with 75 life and 25 fire resistance contributes 1 and fails.
Check the result
The same saved group appears in another compatible Mods check without re-entering its member lines. Recheck the receiving threshold whenever you reuse it. Editing the saved group changes what its references evaluate.
If it does not work
- The group is missing: check the item type filter and restore it from Archive if archived.
- One member is enough to pass: set the receiving Required threshold to 2 and disable automatic threshold syncing.
- Other rows compensate for a missing group member: give the group its own check and chain the checks as described below.
