At a glance
Exalt EV evaluates a Mods goal, available slots and continuation thresholds. This walkthrough starts with a tree generated by Compare craft methods, which supplies those thresholds when its result enables exalt continuation.
Before you start
Prepare a Mods goal and the correct item scope. This generation workflow requires Complete. Craft users can inspect and run an available tree with Exalt EV. Complete setup for every action used by the generated tree before running it.
1. Calculate from the actual Mods goal
Open your Mods check and click Compare craft methods. Select the item type, any required subtype or base variant, and the actual Item level. Check your currency prices, then click Calculate.
The result estimates methods for that goal and scope. Changing the goal or base means the old continuation settings may no longer fit.
2. Create and inspect the method tree
Use Create tree on a suitable rare-item method result. Name and save the generated tree, then open it for editing.
Locate Exalt EV and inspect its continuation setting. A method can generate this node while leaving continuation disabled. Continue with this walkthrough only when the result enabled continuation and populated its gain thresholds.
3. Confirm the referenced Mods check
Open Exalt EV and check Mods check. It should refer to the goal node used by this tree.
Reusing that node keeps Required matches and Score needed aligned with the success check. An item already satisfying that goal is rejected by Exalt EV because this continuation decision is for items still short of the goal.
4. Review the open-slot rule
Check Minimum open affixes. Generated rare-method trees use 2, counting available prefixes and suffixes together.
Under Automation rules, When score already met can permit the last slot when score is sufficient, a required mod is missing, and the remaining slot can add required progress. Choose Require min open slots if the selected minimum must always apply.
5. Preserve the calculated thresholds
Select Use continuation thresholds and inspect Max required-match gain, Max score gain and Min required+score sum. Keep the values supplied by the matching calculation.
For hypothetical arithmetic, suppose Required needed is 1, Score needed is 100, current totals are 1 and 80, maximum score gain is 25, and minimum sum is 76. With sufficient slots and the required mod present, 80 + 25 reaches 100 and 1 + 80 reaches 76. At score 70, the score test fails. These numbers illustrate the comparisons only.
6. Check the routes before running
Confirm condition met leads to Exalt and back to the Mods goal. Condition not met should lead to the generated alternative craft route. Run a small supervised attempt and inspect Logs for the [EXALT EV] decision and its reason.
Check the result
The log reports open slots, current Required+Score and EXALT or REROLL. After an exalt, the item returns to the goal check. A favorable continuation decision estimates progress; it cannot guarantee the rolled mod.
If it does not work
- Logs say continuation was not enabled: Open slots only currently rejects continuation at runtime. Use matching calculator-populated continuation settings.
- Gains are missing or zero: recalculate and regenerate instead of inventing values.
- A last-slot item passes unexpectedly: inspect When score already met and the required-mod rule.
